Think Santa is the only one who eats dozens of cookies in one night? Then you missed the Sixth Annual Seehafer Ace Hardware Cookie Contest.
Thirty-six bakers tried to butter up the judges with their sweet treats, but in the end, it was a blind tasting. Six judges sifted through them all and declared not a crumby one in the bunch.
Amy Bass proved she could take the heat and took home first place with her Caramel Delights. She also took home the Grand Prize – a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Deb Sime’s Christmas Cashew Mounds won second place and Donna Erickson captured third with her Christmas Sandwich Cookies .
Kristy Seehafer, co-owner of Seehafer Ace Hardware said, “We always have a great turnout. This year we had men and women, high schoolers, and even a second-grader. One contestant, who is also a mom, said,” The best part is baking together as a family. We had so much fun!”
The extra cookies were donated to area nursing homes.
