The 2016 Grant County Combined Appeal Campaign reached its goal of $170,000, and will support 17 agencies next year. 2016 was the 55th year the campaign has gathered contributions in the county.
“The Grant County area stepped up for the fifth year in a row to meet our goal,” stated Craig Wellnitz, Milbank Community Foundation Finance Director. “We are thankful to have such a caring community, which gives time and generous donations to help people of all ages.”
The total raised this year is $170,477.63. Of that amount, the Pacesetter groups raised $108,131, small businesses contributed $31,122, and the remainder came from individual contributions.
“We will be able to fund the 17 agencies that applied this year at 100% of the adjusted total of $147,500,” Wellnitz said. The remaining amount is applied to expenses such as advertising, stamps, management fees, and supplies.
Groups to receive funds from this campaign year include: the American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America -Troop 45, Grant County ARC, Grant County Child Protection Team, Grant County Heart/Diabetes Fund, ICAP 60s-Plus Dining Program, Imagination Library, Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership (ICAP), Milbank Area Lions Swim Team (MALST), Milbank Area Community Tennis Association (MACTA), Milbank Area Youth Assistance (MAYA), Milbank Ball Diamond Association, Milbank Community Transit, Milbank Out of School Time (OST) program, Milbank Summer Recreation, the Salvation Army, and Unity Square Charitable Memberships fund.
