Less than 15 members of Whetstone Valley Electric Cooperative are still without power tonight but are expected to have power by Sunday.

All of Whetstone’s substations remain energized although there are still damaged areas throughout the system that are still without power. The areas near Stockholm, Marvin and Peever sustained the most damage and ice remains on many miles of line. Broken poles continue to be discovered in some hard to reach areas.

WVEC General Manager David Page said, “We ask that our members let us know if they’re still without electricity. It’s important to us that everyone is reconnected as soon as possible.”

Page added, “Please be aware of the hazards of downed power lines.” Never approach or touch downed power lines as they may be or become energized. When driving or riding, watch out for broken poles or wire on or near roadways.
