Miles of power lines – from Stockholm to Agency Village- remain ice covered. Dave Page, general manager of Whetstone Valley Electric Cooperative said, “With warmer temperatures forecasted, WVEC officials predict the ice will fall from the lines. While this sounds like good news, it often results in power lines bouncing and coming in contact with each other. The connection of the wires can cause an outage- momentary or prolonged.”

WVEC members are reminded to never approach downed power lines and be mindful of the hazards of falling ice. Report an outage of more than a few minutes to the office at 605-432-5331
