The Grant County Christian Service Council (GCCSC) is partnering with Feeding South Dakota to give over 12,000 pounds of free food to families and individuals. The food giveaway is Wednesday, March 8, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Milbank Fire Hall on Highway 12. Feeding South Dakota will bring a truck filled with frozen meats, dairy products, canned and boxed goods, bread and bakery items, and fresh produce. The event is open to those in need. No income restrictions apply. Those attending are asked to use the north door of the hall.

“We will run two lines for faster service,” says GCCSC representative LeAnn Kuper. “Seating will be available for those in line. Drive through pickup will also be available on the south side of the fire hall.” According to Kuper, transportation is available for those unable to get there on their own. Central United Methodist Church will have their bus available for transport.

Volunteers are also needed at the giveaway to help in setting up, distributing the food, and tearing down. To assist with the event or to line up transportation, call Kuper at 605-949-0617 or Brenda Maass at 605-880-7176.
