The Milbank School District Board of Education approved a motion during a special meeting March 27, to authorize President Dick Schwandt to complete the sale of a parcel of land to Merle Busjahn. The board previously approved the sale of approximately one acre of land to Busjahn for $1,000 plus closing costs.
“This is land we were unaware the district owned in Section 8 of Melrose Township,” stated Superintendent Tim Graf. “I would assume this was a country school house site at one time. Busjahn has maintained and mowed the acre of land for many years.”
The remainder of the special meeting was held in executive session to discuss staffing and contract negotiations. The next regular meeting of the Board of Education is scheduled for Monday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in the Central Office board room.
