The Grant County Republican Party will host a Lincoln Day Dinner Wednesday, May 10, at the Speedway Event Center. “This event is to bring Republicans together for a great dinner to meet great people on the ballot in the 2018 election,” stated Senator John Wiik, emcee of the event. “South Dakota is a very Republican state and the next governor might be in that room.”
Wiik encourages everyone, not just Republicans to attend. “Come and really get to know who you are voting for,” he said. “It’s more fun to vote when you see candidates are real human beings.”
A “meet the candidate” social hour begins at 5 p.m. Meet United States Congresswoman Kristi Noem, South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley, South Dakota Secretary of State Shantel Krebs, and United States Congressional Candidate Dusty Johnson. A buffet dinner will be served at 6 p.m.
Wiik noted this is the first Lincoln Day Dinner held in Milbank in seven years. “We had record number attendance at dinners recently in Codington, Brown, and Pennington counties. It’s an odd year, so having this dinner now is unusual, but there’s been so much interest in and talk about these candidates, I am proud Grant County is hosting this event. I think we will have an excellent turnout.”
Early bird tickets are $25. Tickets purchased at the door are $30.
