The Grant County Christian Service Council, through its partnership with Feeding South Dakota, gave away nearly 12,000 pounds of food on June 15, at the 4-H Extension building. About 200 guests took home frozen hams, meatballs, hamburger patties, sausage, bacon, cheese sticks, cabbage, potatoes, onions, apples, crackers, jello, and bakery items.
“It went very well,” stated organizer LeAnn Kuper. “It was a beautiful day, and we had plenty of volunteers to help.” Two additional giveaways are planned for Wednesday, August 16, and Wednesday, October18.
