The annual National Night Out event in Milbank is scheduled for Thursday, August 3, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Milbank Fire Hall.
The nationwide event is planned to help the community join together, get to know your neighbors and all first responders within the area. “The kids can try to put out a fire with a hose, look at squad cars, or throw balls at the dunk tank,” expressed Milbank Police Chief Boyd VanVooren. “It should be a fun night.”
The Milbank Fire and Rescue Department will also hold their annual burger and brat feed. Local law enforcement will have a roll over simulator on hand to show the effects of seat belts. The departments will also serve free root beer floats.
Departments featured include the Milbank Police Department, Milbank Fire Department, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Grant-Roberts Ambulance Service.
“Come join us for a fun, family night,” added VanVooren.
