The Milbank School District starts the 2017-2018 school year with increased enrollment. “This is great,” says Superintendent Tim Graf. “These numbers are literally changing daily and almost by the hour, but we are happy to see the increase in students.”

There are 983 students enrolled in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. That is an increase of an earlier projection of 950 or 960. The total numbers include 409 in kindergarten through fifth grade, 215 in middle school (grades 6-8), and 341 in high school (grades 9-12). There are seven students from the Blue Sky Colony.

The breakdown of numbers by grade:
Bulldog preschool – 18
Junior Kindergarten – 14
Kindergarten – 63 (includes two from Blue Sky Colony)
First grade – 64 (includes one from the colony)
Second grade – 53 (includes one from the colony)
Third grade – 71
Fourth grade – 73
Fifth grade – 71 (includes one from the colony)
Sixth grade – 61
Seventh grade – 84
Eighth grade – 70
Ninth grade – 87 (includes one from the colony)
Tenth grade – 89
Eleventh grade – 70 (includes one from the colony)
Twelfth grade – 95 (includes 8 transition students)
