It is do or die time for the Milbank High School football team. Thursday night’s final regular season game determines the Bulldog’s fate. The locals host Tri-Valley tomorrow, October 19, at AB Campbell Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
The winner advances to the first round of the Class 11A high school football playoffs. The loser ends their season.
“We look forward to hosting Tri-Valley and hope to fulfill our season goal of making the playoffs,” stated Bulldog Head Coach Jeremy Tostenson. “If we do that it will be because our guys have earned it.”
Tri-Valley is 4-4 on the season. They defeated Hot Springs, Lennox, Vermillion, and West Central. They lost to Dakota Valley, Dell Rapids, Sioux Falls Christian, and Madison.
According to Tostenson, Tri-Valley’s senior running back, Landon Freeman, is a force to be reckoned with. “He is fast and explosive, so we need to keep him in check.
Coach T says the Dawgs, with a 5-3 record, must have a solid night to advance to the playoffs. “We cannot give up any big plays. We need to get off the field on third down, control the clock, and not give the ball up on turnovers.”
Senior players and their parents will be recognized prior to kickoff. Watch The Valley Express Sports on Twitter for live game updates during the game.
