The annual Veterans Day program in Milbank is scheduled for Friday, November 10, at 11 a.m. in the Milbank High School Armory. The public is encouraged to attend.
The program is made possible by members of the American Legion Post #9 and Auxiliary, VFW Post #3486 and Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 19, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054, and the 740th Transportation Company.
The program begins with the Call to Assembly by Wayne VanHout, American Legion Post #9 Commander. The post chaplin will present the invocation. Captain LaDean Bunkers, a retired member of the United States Navy, is the featured speaker. The MHS band will play and the Milbank Middle School choir will sing. The event concludes with a salute to fallen comrades. Taps will be performed by Milbank High School trumpet players. The color guard units and firing squad will assist.
