Great Western Bank Recognized for Outstanding Commitment to Milbank Community

Great Western Bank has received the 2017 Avera Cornerstone Award. The award recognizes a business that has created a culture of philanthropy within their organization and has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to giving back through its financial support of one or more programs, leadership involvement, and volunteer participation. Great Western Bank President & CEO Ken Karels recently accepted the award on behalf of the Company.
“We are honored to be recognized by the Avera McKennan Foundation as a business with a strong internal culture of philanthropy,” said Karels. “Helping communities like Milbank thrive and grow is all part of our mission to Make Life Great.”
In addition to being a major contributor of the Milbank Community Hospital capital campaign, Great Western Bank also supports the Avera Family Wellness program, and serves as a corporate sponsor for the Avera Race Against Breast Cancer. Great Western Bank has raised over $55,000 over the past six years to help fight the disease.
