Nearly 120 children received gifts from this year’s Angel Tree. The Angel Tree is sponsored by the Grant County Christian Service Council.

The families picked up the gifts Monday, December 18, at the Milbank Visitor Center. The children were photographed with Santa and Mrs. Claus, who also gave them a treat. VPD Studio took a free photo for each family. The Christian Service Council gave each family a package that contained toilet paper, paper towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, dish soap, laundry soap, and hand soap.

The council was assisted by the Northern Lights 4-H Club. The 4-H members picked up the wrapped gifts from the three banks in town – First Bank and Trust, Great Western Bank, and Wells Fargo. The presents had been dropped off by community members.

Helping on pickup day were: (l. tor.) Cherie Lewis, Heather Rise of Interlakes Community Action Partnership, Duane Peschong, and Karen Peschong. Seated on Santa’s lap is Linda Comstock. Also helping with pickup day were Beth Snaza and her children Greta, Claire, and Will.
