The Milbank Middle School eighth grade MathCounts team summed up fourth place in an invitational meet in Aberdeen on January 10. The team’s score totaled 30.50.
Eighteen teams competed. Holgate 1 won the meet with 48.0 points. Groton Black was second with 32.50, and Simmons 1 was third with 30.75.
Will Karels and Bennett Schwenn were just one question away from finishing in the top 10. They tied for 11th place – both scored 22. Max Lightfield and Benett Street were two questions away from placing and tied for 15th – both scored 21. Savannah Stengel, Zach Ringsaker, Tyler Lee, and Josh Keeton also attended the meet.
