Grant County Combined Appeal gives to the community through the generosity of its many donors. The organization donated $1,546.85 each to the Salvation Army and the Grant County Food Pantry on Thursday, January 25. The 2017 drive exceeded the goal of $185,000, and the excess dollars are also being distributed.

“The object of the Milbank Community Foundation is to utilize funds that are available and keep them within Grant County,” says Craig Wellnitz, director for the foundation. “The dollars are given right back to the community.”

Kerry Fish, organizer for the campaign says, “Combined Appeal does not make any money or sit on the excess dollars raised. That money goes right back into the community, and I think that is why Combined Appeal is so successful.”

Mark Rodvold, field representative for the Watertown area, accepted the donation on behalf of the Salvation Army. Heather Rise received the donation on behalf of the Grant County Food Pantry. Rise is also the local contact person for those seeking assistance from the Salvation Army.
