Today, February 23, Miriam Schwenn was selected as the 2018 Milbank School District Teacher of the Year. Schwenn graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1994. She began her teaching career at Milbank Middle School and High School.
A comment from a nomination for Schwenn read: “I really consider Mrs. Schwenn a teacher and a coach. She is no different than any other coach getting her team ready for their performance. She works very hard preparing them and at concert time they are ready.”
Milbank School District Superintendent, Tim Graf said, “We are fortunate to have so many outstanding teachers in our District. Once again, the selection committee had a large number of nominees. Thank you all for what you do every day! There has never been a more challenging or more important time to be a teacher.”
