The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) warns ice anglers that all fish houses, shelters, and other structures must be removed from the ice by midnight on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. The structures may be used after Feb. 28, but must be removed from the ice on a daily basis.

Jamie Pekelder, district conservation officer supervior of Game, Fish, and Parks reports, ” The ice on Big Stone Lake is still in pretty good shape, but extra caution needs to be taken as heaves are covered with snow”. He reminds anglers the season for walleye, saugeye, sauger, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and northern pike also closes at midnight on February 28, for all South Dakota-Minnesota border waters.
