The MHS debate team competed in the 2018 South Dakota State Debate and Individual Events tournament in Watertown March 2 and March 3. Milbank Area competed in Class A. Pictured: Nathan Loutsch, Lars Andersen, Claire Mischel, Magally Aburto, and Trevor Nolting.
Claire Mischel placed second in Domestic Extemporaneous speaking.
Nathan Loutsch was a finalist in Domestic Extemporaneous speaking, and Lars Andersen was also a finalist in International Extemporaneous speaking.
Spearfish was the Sweepstakes Champion for Class A. Aberdeen took home the prize in Class AA.
The event is one of South Dakota’s oldest statewide high school competitions. This year saw the crowning of the 104th State Champion in Policy Debate.
