Vocalists Excel at Region Contest

Forty vocal soloists and 16 vocal ensemble members from the Milbank High School Choir performed at the Region III solo and ensemble music contest February 28, at Watertown High School. The vocalists from Milbank received 30 Superiors (I), and 11 Excellents (II).

Solo performances were based on: tone, intonation, accuracy, interpretation, vocal technique and performance factors such as literature choice and professional conduct. Ensemble groups were also critiqued on balance/blend. Each area of concern was worth five points and totaled for an overall rating. Vocal groups using scores/music performed for comments instead of a rating.
