Schmidt’s Landing Resort and Lakeside Suites on Big Stone Lake held a ribbon cutting on Friday, April 13. The Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce helped host the event. Schmidt’s Landing was purchased by Adam and Jeny Koplin of Milbank on December 1.

Jeny, who has a hotel, restaurant, and institutional management degree will manage the resort. Adam, an engineer, is the plant manager at the Big Stone Power Plant. The couple and their three children have relocated to the property.

Schmidt’s Landing sits on 16.5 acres of which 5.89 acres are actively used for the resort. It features 680 feet of fully developed lakeshore and bills itself as a full-service, family orientated resort. Services include: 14 lakeside suites, 10 full service RV pads, nine camp sites with 20/30 amp service pedestals, boat and motor rental, a private boat ramp, and a convenience store with food, beverages, and bait.
