The Orphan Grain Train has earned another four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This is the seventh consecutive year the Orphan Grain Train has earned this designation.
According to Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator, “Only a quarter of charities rated by Charity Navigator receive the distinction of our 4-star rating. Based on its four-star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity… For the last fiscal year, fundraising and administrative expenses were 1.7% of total contributions – meaning more than 98% of donations were used for mission-related expenses.”
“It’s important our donors trust that we’re using their donations wisely to accomplish our missions to assist with natural disasters and also ship food and humanitarian aid to needy people in America and around the world.” said Grant Schmidt, Orphan Grain Train’s vice president. “Our four-star Charity Navigator rating demonstrates to our supporters our good governance and financial accountability.”
Orphan Grain Train’s international office is in Norfolk, Nebraska. It supports 26 locations nationwide.
