Start your 4th of July with a bang! Head to Lake Farley for family-friendly activities and stay for the fireworks. “We have something for everyone,” stated Laura Kelly, Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce Events Director.

The Third Annual Kids Fishing tournament starts at 6 p.m. Registration opens at 5:30, p.m., but late registrations will be accepted. Toddlers (with supervision) up to 16-year-olds are welcome to enter. Bring your own fishing pole or one will be provided for you. Bait will also be provided. The fishing tournament is sponsored by the Whetstone Valley Sportsmen’s Club.

The 4th of July Kids Parade, sponsored by Speedway, starts at 8:30 p.m. The parade, a new event this year, will feature kids dressed in red, white, and blue. All kids are welcome to participate bring out your bikes, tricycles, hot wheels, wagons (No motorized items) Call the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce to register at 605.432.6656.

The fireworks show over Lake Farley begins at about 10 p.m. and will be set to music broadcast on KMSD radio. The Milbank Fire Department will be putting on a dazzling display. Bring a blanket or chair for more comfortable seating.

In between, don’t miss the coin dig for kids sponsored by Great Western Bank, a watermelon feed hosted by the Milbank Police Department, concessions stands, and corn hole boards. Come early and stay late to have a blast this Independence Day at Lake Farley in Milbank.
