A 16-year-old was killed after falling from a moving vehicle near Milbank. Names of the victim and the people involved are not being released pending notification of the families.
The young man was first taken by ambulance to the Milbank hospital, and then airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital where he later died. The 16-year-old male driver of the vehicle was not injured. Charges are pending against him through the state’s attorney’s office. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
