Milbank HOSA Members Get Hands on Experience at Sanford Health
Local News December 6, 2018 Staff Writer 0
Milbank HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) members experienced the inner workings of Sanford Health in Sioux Falls on November 29. Mr. Brock Rops, South Dakota’s state adviser, welcomed the students and presented a motivational speech.
The group toured the Parry Simulation Center, laboratory, and ER. The students learned about ultrasound technology and tested it on themselves by looking at their thyroid glands and veins in their wrists. They also visited the lab and toured the emergency room where an ER nurse introduced them to a trauma room and the helicopter. The Milbank HOSA members were accompanied by their advisor Jenna Schlimme.
