The Grant County Combined Appeal set a goal of $182,100 for 2018. They just reached it! According to Craig Wellnitz, fundraising chairman, this the seventh year in a row the organization, with help from the generous community, has met its goal.
For 57 years – since 1961- the Grant County Appeal has given to dozens of local organizations. The 2018 campaign will benefit 17 groups: Grant County Child Protection Team, Grant County Heart/Diabetes Fund, Milbank Ball Diamond Association, The Salvation Army, Milbank Community Transit, NEGL Red Cross, Unity Square Recreation Programs, Inter-Lakes Community Action (ICAP), Milbank Boy Scout Troop 45, Grant County ARC, Imagination Library, Unity Square Financial Scholarship Program, Milbank Area Community Tennis Association (MACTA), Milbank Area Lions Swim Team (MALST), Big Stone City Out of School Time (OST), Milbank High School Clay Target Team, and the ICAP 60s-Plus Dining Program.
Wellnitz says, “Truly this is a community that cares! People keep stepping up…not just for Grant County Combined Appeal but for many causes that need our support.”
According to Wellnitz, Combined Appeal donations often arrive in December as people and businesses do their year-end giving. Those that come in before the MCF meeting in December will be distributed this year. Donations arriving after the MCF Board meeting will go to jumpstart the 2019 Grant County Combined Appeal campaign.
