Food Giveaway Moves to American Lutheran Church on April 17

The weather has caused one more glitch! The Food Giveaway sponsored by the Christian Service Council and Feeding South Dakota is moving to the American Lutheran Church on Flynn Drive, south of the Avera Hospital in Milbank on Wednesday, April 17 from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Anyone in need is welcome. There are no income restrictions.

The process remains the same as planned for Lake Farley. Patrons will drive through the parking lot of the American Lutheran Church to receive a pre-packaged box of food. Boxes will be prepacked so early arrivals are unnecessary.

According to LeAnn Kuper, co-coordinator of the giveaway, “The move was necessary because of the snow and there’s no sidewalk to the picnic shelter at Lake Farley, and we need a parking lot with a hard surface.”

Brenda Maass, coordinator with Kuper, said,” The giveaway will still be held! Conditions at Lake Farley aren’t the greatest at this time. With a high chance of rain and wind tomorrow, we decided to make the move. Simply drive through the American Lutheran parking lot, follow directions, and receive your food box.”
