Date: 2019 MHS Homecoming week is September 23-27.

2019 Homecoming Theme: Reality TV. Each class entertains the audience with themed skits during Coronation. The Senior Class chose The Bachelor. The Juniors chose American’s Next Top Model. The Sophomores chose Chopped and the Freshmen Class selected Dance Moms. Judging will be held for the class skits and class floats.

Coronation: Monday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the MHS gymnasium.

Senior Royalty Candidates: Queen – Jaecy Engebretson, daughter of Amanda and Jared Engebretson; Elsie Rogers, daughter of Mindy and Jonathan Rogers; Danica Schulte, daughter of Anne Schulte; and Rhianna Welberg, daughter of Jodi and Kevin Welberg. King – Landon Brown, son of Jennifer and Tim Brown; Angel Chen, son of Zoila Amparo Pantaleon and Enrique Chen; James Lusk, IV, son of Rovilyn and James Lusk; and Max McCulloch, son of Ellen and Mark McCulloch.

The 2018 Homecoming Queen, Abby Weber, returns from MSUM to crown the new queen. 2018 Homecoming King, Cole Frazee, is at military training and unable to attend.

Burning of the “M”: The night concludes with the annual hot dog feed in the cafeteria and the burning of the “M” in the parking lot east of the school and north of the football field.

Homecoming Buttons: Buttons cost $1. Student council members plan to canvas the business district selling Homecoming buttons during the week. You can also pick one up at St Lawrence School on Tuesday from 7:45 – 8:15 am. or Koch School on Wednesday from 7:30 – 8:15 a.m.

Dress up Days:

Monday – Hollywood vs. Hillbilly
Tuesday – Work day
Wednesday – Vacation Destination
Thursday – VSCO vs. Frat
Friday – Maroon and Gold day

The Student Council also sponsors activities throughout the week, including a bean bag tournament on Friday morning.

Float Building and Pep Rally: Friday morning is reserved for float building and a pep rally follows the noon lunch.

Parade: The parade starts Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. and follows an alternate route this year due to road construction. There’s still time to enter a float. Call the school if you are interested.

Roast Beef Tailgate: Bulldogs Fighting Cancer sponsor a Hardee’s Roast Beef tailgate from 5-7 p.m.

Football Game: The Milbank Bulldogs take on the Webster Bearcats on Friday night at 6 p.m. at AB Campbell Stadium.

Homecoming Dance: There will be no Homecoming dance this year. A movie will be shown at Art Campbell Stadium.

Extra-curricular Activities Scheduled for Homecoming Week Include:
Monday: JV football at home against Groton/Cross Country at Ortonville
Tuesday: Volleyball at home against Sioux Valley/ Boys Golf at Watertown/ Tennis at home
Thursday: Golf at Sisseton/Volleyball at Hamlin
Saturday: Girls Tennis at Aberdeen
