Grant County Teams Needed For 2020 Cancer Walk

Cancer Walk teams It Only Takes A Spark invites everyone in Grant County to form a team for the 2020 Cancer Walk on June 12 at Lake Farley Park. Is your neighborhood, family, or business looking to make a difference? Are you a cancer survivor? A youth group willing to step up to help?

Teams can be from Milbank or anywhere in Grant County. Sign up now! New teams pay no registration fee. Check it out at a no-obligation meeting on September 30 at 5:45 p.m. at the Milbank Visitors Center.

Anyone can be part of a team. Team captains meet monthly with the core committee to help coordinate fundraising events and the cancer walk. Teams now have the option of staying all night or leaving at midnight with two members returning by 5 a.m. on Saturday morning for cleanup.

At least 70 percent of all funds raised are used for expenses incurred by local cancer patients. Another 20 percent either goes to local patient expenses, a local cancer support group, and/or towards cancer-related equipment at local health facilities. The final 10 percent is reserved to cover the expenses associated with the walk.
