Robin Ehlebracht Opens Simply Stunning Hair Studio in Downtown Milbank

Robin Ehlebracht has purchased the former Carolea’s Beauty Salon on Main Street in Milbank. She has renamed the business Simply Stunning Hair Studio, but says, “Like Carolea, I love to help people look their best.” It could be a genetic tendency as Carolea Dikstaal, who retired after more than 50 years in the beauty business in Milbank, is a twin sister to Robin’s grandmother. Robin has many fond memories of going to Carolea’s and says, “Carolea showed me a great work ethic, and I hope to make her proud.”

Robin says “Although I will continue to offer many of the same services, Carolea told me to make the salon my own.” She started by giving the space a makeover. Her dad, Jerry Ehlebracht, was in charge of the remodel, and Robin says she was thrilled about how great it turned out. “When Carolea came in, she said she loved the new look, too.” Also new, is the line of hair products she offers which doesn’t use toxic chemicals.

Color is one of Robin’s favorite ways to make her clients simply stunning. You understand its importance, if you are in agreement when Stacy Snap-Killian, celebrity hairstylist and inspirational author, says, “It doesn’t matter if your life is perfect as long as your hair color is.”

Robin says she is blessed to have so many wonderful people in her life (including her mom, Sharon, and her five-year old daughter, Maddi) and blessed to be doing what she enjoys.” It doesn’t feel like a job because I love what I’m doing.”

Robin is a MHS graduate and completed the cosmetology program at Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown.  She worked briefly at Carolea’s. Most recently, she has been employed by Great Clips in Watertown for six years as a stylist and manager. But, she says, “There’s something to be said about going home. I am so excited to be back in Milbank and seeing so many familiar faces.”
