Mrs. Beth Wagner, a third grade teacher at Koch School, was selected as Milbank School District Teacher of the Year for 2020 by parents and staff. Dave Graf, principal of Koch School, made the announcement today at the school. Mrs. Wagner’s husband, Dan, her son, Ben, Superintendent Justin Downes, and the third grade students and teachers were all in attendance at the surprise ceremony.

After the presentation of the award, Mrs. Wagner said, “I’m very lucky to have a job that I love to come to everyday. If you can find that —something you have passion for — that is everything.”

Mrs. Wagner was hired by the Milbank School District in 1997 as the coordinator for the K-12 gifted program. Prior to that, she taught 11 years at Grant Deuel School. She has also been a fourth and fifth-grade instructor at Koch School.

Mrs. Wagner, nee Pirmantgen, is a graduate of MHS. She received her undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State and her master’s degree from South Dakota State University. She and her husband have three grown sons: Mitch and Jake, who are twins, and Ben.Pictured: Top- Principal Graf, Mrs. Wagner, Superintendent Downes
