The Milbank Thrift Store closed Saturday, March 14 at 3 p.m., and will remain closed until further notice due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Manager Julie Ludwig says, “Almost all our volunteers are over 60.”
Ludwig says, “During the closure, we encourage people to clean out their cupboards and closets. Donations are still appreciated and will continue to be collected from the back deck each day.”
The Milbank Thrift Store usually serves over 500 customers every week and proceeds go to support the Grant County Christian Service Council. They, in turn, help families in need of short-term assistance such as utilities, rent, or medical expenses. The funds also offer support to the food pantry, nonprofit daycares, back to school programs, and transients.
If you have an urgent need, leave a message at the thrift store at 605.432.5880 or contact Val at the ICAP office in the Grant County Courthouse.
