Final Step Started for Milbank’s Main Street Completion

John Forman, administrator for the City of Milbank, reports construction began today on the final stage of the downtown street project. J & J Contracting removed the old asphalt and concrete from Main Street north of Railway Avenue to the railroad tracks.

Forman says, “This week, if the weather permits, J &J will dig out the base layer of dirt, put fabric down, and fill with crushed gravel. Later this week, or possibly next, they will put gravel down so it is driveable.” According to Forman, the plan is to have the curb and gutter in and pave the property by mid to late April.
