Milbank Main Street Final Block of Construction Open to Traffic

Construction continues on the final stage of the Milbank downtown street project. Last week, J & J Contracting removed the old asphalt and concrete and dug out the base layer of dirt from Main Street north of Railway Avenue to the railroad tracks. This week, J & J put fabric down and filled the area with crushed gravel.

As of late Tuesday afternoon, March 31, the street was driveable and open to through traffic. According to John Forman, administrator for the City of Milbank, the plan is to have the curb and gutter in and pave the property by mid to late April.
