The Milbank High School Oral Interp team competed in The Circle of Courage tournament hosted virtually by Washington High School in Sioux Falls. MHS team members submitted recordings of their performances, which were judged in four rounds of competition. They were ranked in each round and given scores from one to 100.  According to Natasha Karels, coach for the MHS team, Peyten Wiese and Haily Hupke placed third in Varsity Duo. They earned all 3s for their ranking and compiled scores of 95, 94. 85, and 98.

Wiese also placed sixth in Varsity Non-Original Oratory with rankings of 5, 3, 1, and 1. Her scores included 95, 94, 97, and 98. 

Heidi Meyer competed in Varsity Humor and earned rankings of 5, 4, 5, 5. Her scores were 90, 95, 94, and 95. Mackenzie Michels competed in Varsity Drama and received rankings of 4, 4, 5, and 4. Her scores were 95, 91, 93, and 93. 

In the novice division, Ivy Lewno came in seventh place — one place away from receiving an award. Lewno earned rankings of 3, 1, 2, and 4. She posted scores of 95, 96, 93, 90. Also earning points for the team were Brooke Schwagel and Cassidy Schwagel who competed in Drama in the novice division and Lydia Street and Camila Monroy who competed together in Duo. 

MHS will host the Milbank Oral Interp Invitational online tomorrow, October 20.
