MHS Winter Sports Season Starts This Week

Milbank High School kicks off the 2020-2021 winter athletic season this week. The first to begin practice are the seventh grade to senior gymnastics team and the middle school girls basketball squad. Gymnastics starts practice on Monday, November 2, with Amber Fraasch as their head coach. The first basketball practice is also on Monday with coaches Caitlyn Graf and Bre Schwandt leading the team.

According to MHS Activities Director, Ryan Scoular, each coach will conduct their own pre-season meeting. “In addition, the pre-participation packet only needs to be completed one time each school year. Therefore, any athlete that has not completed the information will need to do so prior to participation.” Pre-participation requirements include impact testing, physical and physical update requirements, and the necessary paperwork. Middle school wrestling – Monday, November 16 (Coach Josh Schmeichel).
High school wrestling – Monday, November 16 (Coach Jeremy Tostenson).
High school girls basketball – Monday, November 23 (Coach Brian Pauli).
High school boys basketball – Monday, November 30 (Coach Logan Diede).
Middle school boys basketball – Tuesday, December 8 (Coach Brad Olson and Coach Jackson Graf).
