Milbank Middle School Announces Musicians Selected to All-State

Ruth Luis Gomez and Alex DeLaRosa, eighth graders at Milbank Middle School, have been selected for the 2021 South Dakota Music Education Association Middle School All-State Band. Ruth, who plays the flute, earned  the eighth chair in the honor band.  Alex was selected to play the clarinet in the 19th chair in the festival band.  Susan Karels directs the students. Veronica Fonder, also an eighth grader, was chosen as the 12th chair in the second violin section in the South Dakota Music Education Association Middle School All State Orchestra.  Her instructor is Elizabeth Schulte. 

Susan Karels said, “Due to safety precautions, there will not be a concert this year. Although these students do not get to perform, we recognize their dedication to Band/Orchestra and the great honor it is to have been selected.”
