Jaxson Wiese and Sophia Schuchard, both of Milbank, captured first place in their respective age group at the regional Knights of Columbus free throw contest. The annual event was held in Watertown on Saturday, February 13.
Wiese, son of Scott and Andrea Wiese, made 21-of-25 free throws to win the age-12 boys group. Sophia, daughter of Shane and Jessica Schuchard, dropped in 15-of-25 to take the top spot in the girls age-10 group.
“The state competition will be done differently this year due to Covid,” says Andrea Wiese. “We will find out at a later date if their score is good enough for them to place at the state level.”
