The Bent Arrow team from Milbank competed in the 2021 state indoor tournament —the South Dakota Archers Association (SDAA) Indoor 300 — on April 10-11 at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center in Yankton.
Over 110 shooters vied for top spots in flights that form divisions separated by equipment, age, and gender. Archers six and over are eligible. Milbank archers ranged from Bailey Nolting, age 10 to David Cizadlo, age 70.
Division winners included: David Cizadlo, first ; Bailey Nolting, second; Bergen Nolting, second; Dwight Peschong, third; Bailey Schwagel, third; Josh Anderson, third; and Kalli Grong first. Flight winners included: Sara Jo Anderson, first; Dane Anderson, third; and Ashlie Veen, third.
The shooters represented Bent Arrow Pro Shop and Range in a Milbank. Owner Mark Veen is the coordinator and coach for the group. John Schwagel, Josh Anderson, and Evan Grong serve as assistant coaches.
The 2021 South Dakota Outdoor Tournament is set for August 14-15 in Yankton.
