Hanson Charged With Three Counts of First-Degree Murder in Milbank

According to information released by Boyd Van Vooren, Chief of the Milbank Police Department, Brent Hanson, 57, of Milbank has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his brother Clyde E. Hanson and Clyde’s pregnant wife, Jessica Hanson. 

On the morning of December 15, Milbank police were dispatched to the couple’s residence on Main Street in Milbank to perform a wellness check. The couple was found deceased with injuries consistent with a homicide. 

The Milbank Police Department Agents requested assistance from the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation,  and along with the Milbank Police Department and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, a comprehensive investigation is still underway.

Hanson remains in custody on a $5 million cash-only. He has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder.
