Rep. Fred Deutsch announced he is seeking re-election for the State House of Representatives from District 4.
Says Deutsch, “I’ve been humbled to serve as your representative in the State House for the past four years. If we’ve not yet met, my wife Kathleen and I live in rural Codington County. We’ve practiced chiropractic together in Watertown for the past 40 years and recently retired. I spent nine years as a school board member and served on many community boards including president of the Watertown Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, church youth group, and bible study leader. I am a past president of SD Right to Life. Kathleen and I raised four daughters, and now are blessed with seven grandchildren.”
I’m a common sense, conservative Republican. I believe in the ability of individuals and families to make decisions for themselves. I believe government should be small, transparent, and accountable to the people. I believe strong families are the backbone of strong communities, and in turn, a strong state. I believe local control is best. I believe agriculture is our past and our future. I believe education is our greatest tool for upward mobility. I believe we must protect our liberties, including our Second Amendment rights. I believe the unborn must be protected.
If re-elected, I will continue to focus on creating new opportunities for business, protecting the state’s strong financial position, and improving schools and colleges so that young people are prepared to be responsible and productive citizens.
I believe South Dakota is a great place to raise a family and to do business, and I want to make it even better. At the same time, we need to protect and preserve the values that have made South Dakota great. I will always be pro-life and pro-family.
