Roberts County Sheriff Tyler Appel reported a routine traffic stop on the morning of Tuesday, April 5, resulted in the seizure of over $80,000 in drugs and cash.
Sheriff Appel says, “A Roberts County Sheriff’s deputy performed a routine traffic stop on a vehicle heading northbound on Interstate 29. The deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. While performing a search of the motor vehicle, 10 pounds of methamphetamine worth approximately $80,000 was located in the vehicle, along with a loaded firearm, nearly a pound of marijuana, and a large amount of cash.’
