Members of the MHS Student Council, along with council members from over 60 schools across South Dakota, attended the state student council convention at The Monument in Rapid City. During the two-day event, students networked, heard guest speakers, met for regional council meetings, and gained new insight into leadership.

A banquet was held on Monday evening, and new state officers were announced. Camryn Wiese of Milbank High School was elected state reporter. Max Lightfield of MHS was also voted in as vice president of the Northern Lakes regional council.

The Stanley County Student Council received the award for Outstanding Student Council. The SDHSAA has sponsored the Outstanding Student Council award since 1989. The state convention started in 1988.
