Interested in being an accredited weather spotter? Already a weather spotter, but need to get recertified? A free weather spotter class will be held Monday, April 25, at 7 p.m. at the Big Stone Fire Hall. No preregistration is required. Kelly Serr of the National Weather Service (NWS) in Aberdeen will conduct the class.
According to Kevin Schuelke, head of the Grant County Emergency Management, “The class is free and open to anyone. It lasts two hours. By taking the class you become accredited. Anyone who has earned accreditation must get recertified every other year.
Schuelke says this is the class that serves our area. The location of the class, however, rotates between Milbank, Revillo, and Big Stone City.
