Milbank Home Sustains Major Fire Damage

At 2:37 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, the Milbank Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to 1711 Brittany Street in east Milbank.

According to firefighter Kevin Schuelke, “When we arrived on the scene, we found wind-driven flames beginning to spread through the home. Firefighters got water on the fire for a quick knockdown to save what they could.” Schuelke says, the home, however, was uninhabitable. 

The Red Cross is working with the displaced resident. The Milbank Police Department, the Grant County Sheriff, Grant-Roberts Ambulance, and Grant County Emergency Management also assisted at the scene.
