Five Bulldogs Place in Top Ten at DSU Tourney

Milbank competed in the Karl E. Mundt Oral Interpretation Tournament at Dakota State University in Madison on October Saturday, October 22.
Keira Steffen took second-place honors in the Grand Finals for Non-Original Oratory. Ivy Lewno earned fourth place. The category included 28 competitors. Veronica Fonder also reached the Grand Finals and placed seventh. The twosome of Avery Van Overbeke and Isabella Vogel advanced to the honor finals in Duet. They placed fourth and 10th overall.
Milbank team members who also participated included: Caroline Chavez, Brooke Schwagel, Trixie Coalter, and Jacob Shelstad in Drama. The duo of Daniel Shelstad and Cooper Hupke and the duo of Veronica Fonder and Gemma Street in Duet. Gemma Street and Cooper Hupke in Humor. The team of Ivy Lewno, Brooke Schwagel, Jacob Shelstad, and Isabella Vogel in Reader’s Theater.
Natasha Karels, an English instructor at MHS, serves as the head oral interp coach.
