The MHS oral interp team traveled to Brookings on Monday, October 24 to compete in the Brookings Fall Fest.  Milbank brought home several ribbons, including Brooke Schwagel’s First Superior in the Drama category.

The pairs of Avery VanOverbeke and Isabella Vogel and Veronica Fonder and Gemma Street each received a Superior rating in the Duo category.  Gemma Street also earned a Superior in the Humor division, and Keira Steffen and Ivy Lewno each garnered a Superior in the Non-Original Oratory division. Jericho Jones was awarded a Superior in Poetry. Jacob Shelstad won a Superior in Drama. The Reader’s Theater team of Jacob Shelstad, Brooke Schwagel, Ivy Lewno, and Isabella Vogel also brought home a Superior rating.

Cooper Hupke and Trixie Coalter competed in the Humor division. Each received an Excellent Plus rating.  Ivy Lewno collected an Excellent Plus rating in Non-Original Oratory, and Veronica Fonder was awarded an Excellent Plus in Storytelling.

In the Duo category, Cooper Hupke and Daniel Shelstad received an Excellent rating. Caroline Chavez also earned an Excellent rating in the Drama category.
Natasha Karels, an English instructor at MHS, serves as the head oral interp coach.
