Milbank FFA Chapter members earned several first-place finishes at the District I Leadership Development Events (LDE) in Doland on Monday, November 7. Qualified members now advance to compete in the state LDE on Sunday and Monday, December 4 and 5, in Pierre.
The Parliamentary Procedure team also placed first and punched their ticket to State. Members include Raul Berrones, Tice Mursu, Landon Novy, Keara VanHoorn, Luis Berrones Abby Pillatzki, Veronica Fonder and Nick Fonder.
In individual competition, Ashlynn Lamp claimed first place in ag broadcasting to qualify for State.
Milbank’s Conduct of Meeting team took first place and also moves on to State. Members include Kayla Schweer, Kali Moser, Ashlynn Lamp, Estelle Schweer, Megan Wiese, Kalli Grong, and Hallee Green.
Macy Mueller placed eighth and Lexi Meyer placed fifth in creed speaking.
Two MHS students were elected to positions as District I Officers. R. Berrones will serve as president, and Pillatzki will serve as the reporter.
