The MHS oral interp team is headed to State. The festival takes place in Mitchell on Friday and Saturday, December 2-3.
Coach Natasha Karels said, “The Bulldogs earned second place at the regional tournament. They finished just six points behind the winner, Great Plains Lutheran. According to Karels, only the top-three award winners in each category advance to the state festival. “We had five of our seven entries qualify for State.” Milbank’s regional winners include: Veronica Fonder — First place in Storytelling; Gemma Street — Second place in Humor; Keira Steffen — Second place in Non-Original Oratory; Jericho Jones — Second place in Poetry; and Brooke Schwagel — Third place in Drama.
Both of the Bulldogs other entries finished fourth and placed as the first alternates to the state festival. They include: Gemma Street and Veronica Fonder in Duo and the team of Jacob Shelstad, Ivy Lewno, Brooke Schwagel, and Isabella Vogel in Readers Theater.
