Gail Barlund Elected to County Committee

Gail Barlund was elected to represent LAA3 in the election conducted by the Grant County Farm Service Administration (FSA) on December 8. Kadon Leddy was selected as the first alternate. LAA3 includes Adams, Madison, Stockholm, Strandburg, Troy, and Vernon townships. 

Barlund has served on the Grant County FSA Committee as the county committee advisor since March 2020. Advisers, who are non-voting members, provide diverse viewpoints and represent the interests of the underserved. She will now perform the duties of both an elected committee member and the adviser.  

Grant County is divided into three LAAs that have alternating elections. Elected county committee members serve a three-year term and up to three consecutive terms. Barlund will join Tyler Grabow and Adam Pauli on the committee effective January 1. She succeeds Dustin Johnson who was not eligible for re-election due to term limits. 

Joel Foster, executive director of the Grant County FSA, thanked Johnson for his dedication and service to the local agricultural community for the past nine years.
